J.J. Abrams has finally revealed the list of characters included in the recently released "Star Wars 7: The Force Awakens" trailer.
The director of the seventh installment of the hit scifi franchise and LucasFilm president, Kathleen Kennedy have teamed up to present a rather nostalgic way of introducing some of the sequel's character lineup.
The duo had released a "Collect 'Em, Trade 'Em" collectible cards exclusively to Entertainment Weekly as part of their promotional strategy for the upcoming "Star Wars 7"movie.
Topps Trading Company issued the trading cards for the original 1977 "Star Wars" movie.
There were five rounds of the collectible cards for the film. Each of the cards was labeled with different colors; the red and blue ones lead the lineup. This time around Abrams and Kennedy have issued three from the red series and five from the blue.
While, Abrams intentionally did not discuss which of the characters in "Star Wars 7: The Force Awakens" are from the light or dark side, he did mention that the numbering in the cards released online plays a significant role on the characters' identity.
"Star Wars 7 The Force Awakens" will be released in cinemas on December 18, 2015.
